Our K–2 environment has transformed into a student-centered space where technology acts as a purposeful bridge shifting students away from passive media consumption and into active digital creation. At Patterson Elementary, our K–2 technology deployment is defined by intentionality and purpose. We actively reshape the early childhood screen time narrative by shifting the student experience away from passive content consumption and into multimodal content creation. Guided by research-backed instructional design, our young learners use iPads to construct math number stories, make their individual thinking visible, and share their unique understandings safely with our global community.
