Occasionally, library books are accidentally lost or damaged. When this happens, we will send home a "book-fine notice."
Please do not order replacements for the book online
We use the money received from fines to purchase library bound books from our library vendor. Library bound means that the book will withstand hundreds of check outs and rough rides in back packs.
Books purchased on Amazon or Scholastic have a cheaper binding that will only end up lasting for a few checkouts.
TOP 3 WAYS LIBRARY BOOKS GET DAMAGED
- Water Damage: Most water bottles leak when put in back packs. Consider keeping books in a plastic ziplock bag when in backpacks
- Pets: Dogs and cats like chewing on the corners of books
- Younger siblings: They love to draw and color in books or accidentally rip pages
